SpekChek™ Updated to Support New PCI Express 1.1 Specification
SPX PRO Analyzer Introduced at Value Price
PCI-SIG Compliance Workshop, Milpitas, CA, December 5, 2006—Catalyst Enterprises, Inc., a leading manufacturer of advanced design verification and test tools for PCI Express and other high performance communications technologies today announced the SPX Pro, a new, value-priced, entry-level protocol analyzer addition to the SPX analyzer product line. Additionally, Catalyst has announced added support for the PCI Express 1.1 specification on their SpekChek compliance test suite.
SpekChek is a comprehensive protocol compliance test package for PCI Express endpoint and root complex devices and is a software add-on to the widely-deployed SPX Series of PCI Express analyzers and exercisers. SpekChek includes hundreds of tests covering each section of the PCI SIG compliance requirements documents. SpekChek is used by PCI Express developers to help ensure specification compliance and interoperability with other PCI Express devices
"Customers who strive for PCI Express protocol compliance have found SpekChek an essential test tool," said John Wiedemeier, Product Marketing Manager. "Catalyst will continue to develop and improve these test tools to support our customers as the PCI Express specification evolves to address key industry requirements."
Catalyst has reconfigured the SPX analyzer feature sets to better match customer requirements and budgets. The SPX Expert maintains the current feature set of the SPX Series, including all advanced features, such as the graphical LTSSM view and advanced triggering capabilities. The SPX Pro is an entry-level, value-priced analyzer that includes all essential features of a PCI Express analyzer.
The Pro and Expert packages are available on analyzer configurations supporting lane widths from x1 to x8. Budget-conscious customers planning on PCI Express development can get started under $10,000 and may upgrade later to an Expert feature package or to a higher lane width. SPX analyzers, no matter what the feature package, have many innovative features that dramatically reduce debugging time and accelerate time-to-market for PCI Express products. Users can find errors fast by using the powerful triggering, filtering, and error reporting. Complex protocol traffic is easy to follow using annotated views and charts that display events by logical and chronological occurrence.
Availability
SpekChek is available for immediate purchase as an add-on to the SPX Exerciser product line. Existing SpekChek users may upgrade to the latest version at no cost by contacting the factory. Catalyst is demonstrating the updated SpekChek package at the PCI Compliance Workshop, being held in Milpitas, California, the week of December 4th.
The SPX Expert and SPX Pro configurations are also available for immediate shipment, with configurations starting at less than $10,000. Catalyst SPX Analyzers and Exercisers are also being demonstrated at the PCI Compliance Workshop.
